QR medical ID for seniors
We are building a MásVidas version for older adults and anyone who may need help in public, such as people living with Alzheimer’s or dementia. A family member or caregiver manages the profile; if the person gets disoriented or has an emergency, whoever helps scans the QR code, sees their medical details and alerts the family with one tap. It is not available yet.

How will it work?
- From your account you create your relative’s profile: name, medical conditions, medications, allergies.
- You put the QR code on something they always carry: clothing, a bracelet, a wallet or a cane.
- If they get lost or feel unwell, whoever finds them scans the QR code with a phone camera. No app needed.
- They see a message that this person may need help, their public medical details and a button to alert the family.
- You get an alert with the location and the helper’s details so you can call them.
Why a QR code and not just an engraved bracelet?
- It holds more information: several medications and conditions, their doctor, their insurance.
- You update it instantly when a treatment changes, with nothing to re-engrave.
- It alerts several relatives at once, without showing their numbers to strangers.
- It tells you where your relative is at the moment of the alert.
The two work well together. We compare them in QR code vs. medical ID bracelet.
What should I do in the meantime?
- Put a card in their wallet with their name, medical conditions and a family phone number.
- Set up the Medical ID on their phone, if they use one: iPhone and Android show it on the lock screen.
- Keep a recent photo and a description of what they are wearing when they go out alone.
If your relative still drives, MásVidas is already available for them: see the car emergency QR sticker.
